French Hussars - Elite Squadron - Charging (IFC21)

These figures were somewhat of a disappointment. I had painted AB's French Elite Chasseurs which were very nice indeed, and anticipated all the stops would be pulled out in depicting these colorful figures. The squadron ordered came in one position. Modification to the sword arm is the only way to provide some animation without attempting to 'cut and paste' the figures (something I'm not willing to do in 15mm). A couple arrived minus noses and with a smooth lead area on the front of their colpacks. I took an x-acto knife to the fig. on the left of the photo and restored the strands of hair. The fig. on the right was painted is it came.

With some work, these figs will certainly look fine, but the smallish faces and uninspired positioning of the body only earns it an "8".
