2D6 skill checks for most tasks, modified by unit quality, cover, suppression, etc. Damage generally requires rolling a number of D6s and checking a damage table. Results of Casualties or Retreat will cause a 2D6 check. Hidden deployment and movement mechanics and friction are a large part of the gameplay.
