Lil' Leipzig:
The Inventory Update

When I was first struck with the fever that led me to even contemplate a game of this scope, I decided to start with Russians. I ordered the complete army from Baccus. Peter at Baccus was very accommodating. I needed a lot more command strips than his normal packs contained. The order was then shipped off to a painting service in the UK. This is where everything went wrong. Long story short, the painter disappeared, I never saw my figs again. $400 worth of troops deserted!

On the other hand, one gamer heard about the project and sent me - gratis - a small collection of painted figures. He just wanted them to get some use. And for the past couple years they’ve languished in a box. Well, they’re out now.

So here’s where we stand. With the few figures I had and the donated figures I’ve got a small start:

In the center you can see about 25 bases of French. The bases are 30mm square. The donated figs are on the greener bases around the edge and the bases with the blue bases. Here are a couple close ups of some infantry bases:

You can also see a few town bases in the upper left. These are 40mm square bases and using 2mm terrain from Irregular by way of Eureka out of Australia. I like being able to show an actual village instead of having one church stand in for a whole village.

Next step: re-base the existing troops where needed and label them. Then check them off against the OOB. Meanwhile I feel like painting Russians. So I’ll do my four stands of Russian Guards first.
