This is my first experience with Freikorps and looking at this figure I am neither impressed nor disappointed. This is a reasonable, middle of the pack entry. Measuring in at 14.5mm from boot sole to eye it is a true 15 mm. The figure is fairly well built, though I think the legs are perhaps a bit on the short side. The feet are very small (notice to sculptors: feet matter!) but otherwise the figure looks to be well scaled.

The level of detail is good with small details left small. The canteen cord, cuff flaps and musket details are raised for easy painting without being grossly over sized. The pom pom looks to be the right size, and the shako cords look like cords, not bell rope as on some other brands.

I like the fact that he carries a wicker canteen (many French soldiers carried no drink of any kind to judge by many manufacturers!) that adds a little character to an otherwise ordinary figure. The casting is clean and there are no noticeable mold lines. The face is average, though the right cheek needed a lot of clean up work on my other figs (I left this one with his cancerous growth in place, though you can’t see that in the pictures - or is he just chewing a giant wad of tobacco?).
