Based on what I saw from their British figures, I am not much of a fan of the Lancashire line. Looking at this piece my opinion is raised a bit.

In common with so many manufacturers, Lancashire has produced some figures with freakish anatomy. Thankfully this Frenchman appears to have been born rather than built from spare parts. The feet and hands are about the right size, and the legs and torso match. The calves are a bit large but that could be the cut of the pants at play.

Overall this is a good figure - I assume they had a different sculptor for their British figure. I like the pose quite a bit. There is energy and direction to the step. The face has good detail and a real expression. Furthermore the equipment is in scale and all in the right place. My only complaints are two (and they are minor).

First, the jacket looks too short in front, but perhaps that is just me. Second, the torso looks awfully stocky. Perhaps he’s a particularly well fed soldier? All in all a welcome addition to any regiment, I would think.

My apologies to everyone who noticed that I had mistakenly painted up a Russian figure (mis-numbered poly bags were the culprit) in the earlier version of the page. Cudos to everyone who caught the mistake. As these are my first French it never occurred to me I had the wrong figure!
