THE BOOK: HYITJ is a slim booklet of 24 pages. It is a simple black and white with yellow card stock covers.
SCOPE: Despite the name this is not a skirmish game. These are designed for small battles or raids.
ARMY SIZE: Armies will be relatively small. Stands contain 3 foot or mounted and games will have around 10-20 stands per side.
BASE UNIT:
There are no real units per se. There are Groups (a base with 3 foot or mounted figures) and leaders. Leaders are singly mounted.
GAME SCALES:
- Ground Scale: Not stated.
- Time scale 1 turn = Not stated
- Figure/Base Ratio 1 infantry base = 100 men or 1 figure = 1 ship or 1 base=250 men)
- Recommended Figure Size: 15mm
- Table Size: The game is played on a 6x6 operational grid and a tactical table at least 3x5 feet.
- Game Length: Most games should be playable in an hour or two.
BASING SIZES: Foot groups are 3 figures on a 1.25” square base. Mounted are three figures on 1.25 x 1.6” base and leaders individually on a 5/8” square base.
TURN SEQUENCE:
- The Artillery Phase: Both players simultaneously fire their eligible artillery units. Any units Broken (see below) are removed from play.
- Command Phase: Orders are issued and sent, units are rallied. Divisions check morale followed by the Army.
