Old Glory has a seemingly bifurcated reputation. On the one hand they are known as the “value” brand (meaning decent minis at aSBS ACW 15 Inf OG3 really good price). On the other hand, they get labeled with a broad brush based on some of their more  - ahem - unique figures. While I do not know for sure, I feel certain they have used a wide variety of sculptors giving their lines a highly inconsistent (with each other) look. Based on this figure, I’m not certain I’d feel a low price made it at all attractive.

Dem Bones - The Anatomy: I’d like to introduce Skar Hamhands - wow, look at the size of them! Old Glory anatomy is usually near the mark. This figure is all right except the arms and hands are in 20 mm! The face is obscured by the hat brim, but the lower half is easy to make out. The other proportions are generally sound.

Everybody Vogue: OG especially gets pounded for having some SBS ACW 15 Inf OG4animated poses. And some downright scary poses. This one seems perfectly sound.

Do Those Buttons Read USA or USB? I have found that Old Glory can often have areas on a mini where multiple pieces of equipment or folds come together and the result is just a jumbled mess - what I call “scrambled eggs.” There’s none of it here, however. All the equipment is realistic and distinct. The musket bands and canteen strap are modeled, and are easy to paint. The bayonet is a strange beast. Assuming the figure here is 6 feet tall, the bayonet would be 3.6 feet long! Easy enough to correct, but still. My other issue with this figure is that the folds in the clothes make no sense. On the arms, they run from joint to joint. On the pants, they run in parallel lines instead of radiating from the joints.

The Reserves: Other figures

These two figures were identified as “Hood’s Texans, from Old Glory. They certainly have the Old Glory style. The poses are very animated, and the sculpted details are highly overstated. Still in all, they paint up fairly easily.
