At first I had found on E-bay an old box of a long-defunct Napoleonic range. Imagine my surprise when Marcin Kaźmierczak dropped me an e-mail to let me know that it is, in fact, a fledgling new range from the Polish manufacturer of plastic model kits. Distributed in the US by Squadron, they come packed 16 to the box and are packaged in a full color box (at least mine were - but then I bought a box of 32). This sample measures in at 16.0 mm from boot sole to eye, and is similar in style to AB and Battle Honors. Their main problem may be their price (about $0.62 each) and the current limited range (just 5 infantry releases so far). But this is definitely a line to watch.
The detail here is very good. It is relatively high contrast as evidenced by the gaiter buttons, cuffs, and barrel hoops. The face is good, with a big mustache. The bedroll is not folded (of course, the folding may have simply been one style, my reference does not indicate which was “official”), but the equipment is all nicely done.
Except for some rather slim legs, the overall sculpting is very nice. The proportions are solid. The feet, hands and head are in scale with the torso.
The pose also shows promise. This is a simple walking pose, but the figure has a slight forward lean, which helps give him some additional animation.
Note: I picked up this figure off E-bay. It was one of a box of 32 - eight each of four different poses (2 different marching poses, one advancing, one firing).
