First Impressions: Holy cow, that’s not a horse, that’s a giraffe! Okay, it’s really not that bad, but that neck is too long for that horse. And the front legs look like they were borrowed from another creature entirely. But the trooper looks good, with nice detail. The detail is on the more overstated side.
Dem Bones - The Anatomy: The horse looks like it was made from two other horses. The front from a very narrow chested 20 mm horse, the rear from a round rumped 15 mm horse. The joints on both front and rear legs are off, and the parts of the horse not in scale with each other. The trooper, on the other hand, is solid.
Everybody Vogue: The gait of the horse is not bad in the abstract. The execution leaves much to be desired. The trooper is a good pose and I like that he’s clearly looking in the distance - so many figures seem to be really concerned with the twenty feet in front of them.
Do Those Buttons Read USA or USB? The level of detail here is moderate. The shoulder belt is clean but has no buckle or other detail. The carbine seems to have a really small stock, but is otherwise passable. I think the reins are much too wide, and while this makes the figure easy to paint, it detracts from the overall appearance (compare this especially to the Minifigs tack).
The Reserves: Other Figures
Another odd horse with a narrow rump and long legs.
