Musket has a good reputation in the ACW gaming community as far as I can tell. This figure weighs in at 14 mm from eye to sole. The figure was very cleanly cast and was fun to paint.
Dem Bones - The Anatomy: This is another line that, from the samples I’ve seen, has a penchant for short legs. This figure shows the condition very clearly. If you look at the size and shape of the torso it appears very long compared to the legs. It could be that the jacket he is wearing is supposed to be extra long, but looking at the waistline the legs still look awfully short and spindly. And like other sufferers from gnome-itis, his hands have swollen and his feet have shrunk. It appears to be a mild case. Also, if you look at his arms, his upper arms are far too short when compared to his lower arms.
Everybody Vogue: If I were a drill sergeant I would slap him around for aiming so damn high -”Aim low, aim low!” - but otherwise I think the pose is very good. The face is on line with the musket and is very nicely rendered.
Do Those Buttons Read USA or USB? The detail level is good, and I found all the particulars easy to trace and paint - no scrambled eggs here! I liked the upturned brim of the hat - it showed off the face and really helps the look of the overall figure.
