After AB, Battle Honors often rank second in my book. The French infantry is no exception. Sculpted by the founder of AB they are very well sculpted, nicely cast and inexpensive (about $12.50 per bag of 50 figures).

Looking at this voltigeur, we see human anatomy in the correct proportions, identifiable facial features, and neat detail in the uniform and equipment. It is possible, for example, to see where the jacket ends and the waistcoat begins - a great aid in guiding one’s paintbrush. The musket is another example - some brands have their infantry carrying long pointed tubes and it is up to you to paint all the musket detail. Here we see barrel, stock, bands and lock all called out neatly.

This figure was pulled from a bag of 50 French infantry and, like their AB friends, they come in a variety of poses with slight differences in equipment. You might see a rolled blanket in place of a pack, camp pot, bottle of wine, or other small changes to give your army some real variety.
