Figures in greatcoats may be blazing fast to paint, but they are so plain I hardly think the time saved worthwhile. If the supply of this brand of miniature were more reliable, I would have ordered a normal French fusilier. But supply issues with this brand are so severe that I could not recommend them, no matter how good some of their figures might be.
Given how little there is to look at here, it is a real shame that there is a substantial mold line running right down the face. It looks like a very good sculpt which has been ruined by poor manufacturing. (Of course, why you run the mold line there at all is a mystery to me...)
My only other criticism of the figure is that the feet are too small. Otherwise I think figure is well done. The musket is highly detailed without being baroque. The folds of the greatcoat fall naturally and are nicely stated - no hurricane sized waves here.
I have seen other figures in this line (the Lancer for example) and it is generally very good. But the owner is very eccentric I understand, so supply is precarious at best.
