I realize I should have straightened this figure before I photographed it. Oh, well, they can’t all be gems.
This is a nice figure, one I enjoyed painting. The overall detail is good and the figure has a nice military bearing. I have two issues with the figure however. First, his feet are too small. Second, the casting is not very good, because the two halves of the figure are misaligned. You can see this on the right profile shot - on the legs at the calf you can see a vertical “stripe” - this is actually the mold line. It was most troublesome on the back of the figure where the pack and shako really showed the flaw. I checked the others in the pack I have and they were all the same. I have not checked any other Falcon packs so this may be a simple QA/QC issue. Still, if you’re going to lay out your hard-earned sheckels for some lead, it ought to be made right.
The level of detail is good but, again, this is a figure where certain details are just oversized for the scale. I realize that is done so they will stand out on the game table, but that can be accomplished with paint and much more subtle details in the sculpt.
All of my other comments would be pretty minor. The pom pom on the shako seems too large though I know that there is probably no official size to refer to. The sculptor of this figure clearly knows his business so I think it a shame the musket were not a little more detailed. These minor comments aside, if this were casting better, I would give it a strong recommendation.
